Clan Carthy High School stands as a beacon of educational excellence in Kingston 3, St. Andrew, where we have been proudly serving our community since 1980. Born from the vision of dedicated citizens and community leaders who recognized the critical need for secondary education in South East St. Andrew, our school was established on land generously donated by the Carthy Family. What began as Vineyard Town Secondary School with 350 students and 10 teachers has flourished into a thriving institution that now serves approximately 1,300 students with over 70 highly trained and experienced educators.
Our commitment to academic excellence is reflected in our diverse curriculum offerings, which span Technical and Vocational subjects, Visual and Performing Arts, and Business Education. We maintain a carefully balanced faculty that ensures our students receive well-rounded instruction from dedicated professionals who are passionate about nurturing young minds. This comprehensive approach has enabled countless graduates to transition successfully to higher education institutions both locally and internationally.
At Clan Carthy High School, we take immense pride in our students' achievements across multiple disciplines. Our young scholars consistently excel in academic competitions such as School's Challenge Quiz and Debating, while our athletes proudly represent the school at prestigious events including the Penn Relays and Boys' and Girls' Championships.
